Butterfly Valve Packaging Method And Process

The packaging of butterfly valves is essential to protect the integrity of the product and its safe transportation. Different types of packaging materials and packaging methods can be selected based on factors such as transportation methods, product characteristics, storage methods, and customer needs. Below we will explore the common packaging methods of butterfly valves and their advantages and disadvantages.
Butterfly valves generally require two types of packaging, inner packaging and outer packaging.

ONE. Inner packaging of butterfly valve Packaging Method

Inner package refers to the packaging of a single butterfly valve. Commonly used materials include cartons, plastic bags, stretch film, bubble bags, etc. It is suitable for small butterfly valve, especially wafer butterfly valve.

1. Cartons

Advantages:

Environmental protection: Cartons are heavy, easy to process, and can be recycled, with good environmental protection.
Rigidity: The corrugated cardboard inside the carton has a certain rigidity when fixing the butterfly valve, and can buffer and protect the product from being squeezed or deformed.
Breathability: The carton has excellent breathability, which helps prevent moisture from forming inside the package, affecting the transportation and storage of the butterfly valve.

Disadvantages:

Poor waterproofness: The carton has poor waterproofness. If it encounters a humid environment or rain, it may cause damage to the packaging.
-Narrow applicability: Generally suitable for small-caliber butterfly valves.

2. Plastic bags

Advantages:

Waterproof and moisture-proof: Plastic bags have good waterproof and moisture-proof properties, which can effectively protect the butterfly valve from the erosion of the humid environment in sea transportation.
High transparency: Some plastic bags have high transparency, which can clearly display product parameters and facilitate identification and inspection.

Disadvantages:

Poor impact resistance: Plastic bags have poor impact resistance and are easily pierced or torn by sharp objects.
Environmental pollution: It is well known that plastic bags may cause environmental pollution.

3. Stretch film

Advantages:

Good fixation: Stretch film can fix the butterfly valve in the packaging box, effectively preventing the product from moving and colliding during transportation.
Strong tensile resistance: The stretch film has strong tensile resistance and can protect the product from external impact.

Disadvantages:

Poor wear resistance: The stretch film has poor wear resistance and is easily scratched or torn during transportation.
Environmental pollution: The stretch film is made of plastic material, which has a greater impact on the environment.

4. Bubble Bag

Advantages:

Good cushioning: The bubble bag is full of small bubbles, which has good cushioning performance and can effectively reduce the impact of external impact on the product.
Lightweight: The bubble bag is light in weight and will not increase the total weight of the package, which is conducive to reducing transportation costs.

Disadvantages:

High cost: Compared with other packaging materials, bubble bags are more expensive and may increase packaging costs.

2. The outer packaging of butterfly valve Packaging Method

Outer package is the largest packaging unit before loading in the container. Commonly used are wooden pallets, metal pallets, plywood boxes, solid wood boxes, metal boxes, etc.

1. Wooden pallet

Strong load-bearing capacity: The wooden pallet has a simple and sturdy structure and can withstand a large weight.
Low cost: Compared with other packaging materials such as metal pallets, wooden pallets are less expensive and are suitable for one-time use or low-cost requirements.
Easy to be affected by moisture: Wood easily absorbs moisture and expands, causing deformation or damage.
Requires fumigation: Wooden pallets are generally made of solid wood, and fumigation is required for export to many countries, such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Saudi Arabia, etc.

2. Metal pallets

Durable: Metal pallets have high corrosion and wear resistance, long service life, and can be reused.
Strong bearing capacity: Metal pallets have a stable structure and can withstand large weight and pressure.
Strong adaptability: Metal pallets are suitable for transportation and storage in various environments and climatic conditions.
High cost: The cost of metal itself is higher than that of packaging materials such as wood.
Heavyweight: Metal pallets are relatively heavy, which may increase the weight of the overall packaging and increase transportation costs.

3. Plywood boxes

Environmental protection: Plywood is a man-made board made of recycled wood or thin wood chips, which has good environmental protection.
Stable structure: Plywood boxes have a sturdy structure and can effectively protect products from damage.
Moderate weight: Plywood boxes are lighter than solid wood boxes, which can reduce the weight of the overall packaging.
Fumigation-free: Generally, synthetic materials such as plywood boxes do not need to be fumigated. However, it should be noted that countries such as the United States require all wood to be fumigated.
Cost: Plywood boxes are more expensive than packaging materials such as pallets.
Poor durability: Plywood boxes are less durable than solid wood boxes and are usually used as disposable packaging materials.

4. Solid wood boxes

Sturdy structure: Solid wood boxes have a stable structure and can effectively protect the butterfly valve from damage.
Strong durability: Solid wood boxes have high durability and service life and can be reused many times.
Fumigation required: Like wooden pallets, fumigation is required to kill possible pests.
High cost: Solid wood boxes are more expensive than packaging materials such as plywood boxes.
Heavy weight: Solid wood boxes themselves are heavier, which may increase the weight of the overall packaging and increase transportation costs.

Three. Foaming agent packaging of Butterfly valve Packaging Method

ZFA valve uses a new type of packaging, which is used between the inner packaging and the outer packaging, that is, the foaming agent.
The foaming agent is a commonly used inner packaging material that can be used in combination with solid wood boxes or plywood:
Light and soft: The foaming agent material is light and soft, which has little effect on the overall weight of the packaging and will not increase transportation costs.
Buffering properties: The foaming agent has good shock absorption and buffering properties, which can reduce the impact of external impact on the butterfly valve.
Easy to process: The foaming agent material is easy to process into various shapes and can adapt to butterfly valves of different shapes and sizes.

Four. Packaging process of Butterfly valve

No matter what packaging method is used, the packaging process should follow certain standards and procedures to ensure that the product can reach the destination safely and intact.
The packaging process usually includes the following steps:
1. Cleaning products: Before packaging, the butterfly valve should be cleaned to ensure that its surface is clean, especially before shipment, it needs to be tested for water pressure and air pressure. After the test is completed, the test medium needs to be wiped clean before shipment.
2. Inner packaging: After cleaning, each butterfly valve is placed in an inner packaging separately for the first step of protection.
3. Outer packaging: Put the butterfly valve in the packaging box, a layer of butterfly valve and a layer of foaming agent to prevent the butterfly valve from moving and bumping.
4. Sealed packaging: Seal the packaging box to prevent the intrusion of external factors such as dust and moisture.
5. Label packaging: Mark the product name, specifications, quantity and other information on the packaging box for easy identification and management.
