Description

Features of WCB Wafer Butterfly Valve

Compared with the hard-backed valve seat, this soft-replaceable seat WCB butterfly valve has a wider contact surface with the pipe flange, and the installation and sealing performance is better, without the need for a special flange for butterfly valves;
This EPDM soft backed valve seat is highly replaceable and does not require any special tools. The replacement can be completed;
The wall thickness of the soft dovetail seat valve is relatively thicker and heavier than hard-backed valve body, and this soft back seat valve body is not easily deformed.
4 butterfly valve refers to 4 inch WCB butterfly valve, it is the most commonly used size in the market and is also the one we have the most stock of.
WCB butterfly valve is commonly used for valve bodies due to its cost-effectiveness compared to stainless steel. And its ability to handle high-pressure and high-temperature applications (up to +800°F or +425°C).

EPDM Seat Wafer Butterfly Valve Applications

Water and Wastewater Management: Used to control the flow of raw and treated water.
Drinking Water Systems: EPDM valve seats ensure a sanitary, leak-proof seal and are suitable for drinking water pipes.
Irrigation Systems: Effectively control water flow in agricultural irrigation pipes.
HVAC Systems: Suitable for chilled water and hot water systems in pipes.
Fire Protection Systems: In sprinkler systems, it is often used as an isolation valve or flow control valve in fire water supply systems.
Food and Beverage Industry: EPDM valve seats are non-toxic and resistant to water-based liquids, making this valve suitable for food processing (excluding oil-based products).
Chemical Processing: Low-corrosive chemical systems, suitable for systems conveying weak acidic or alkaline solutions that are compatible with EPDM.
Power Plants: Cooling Water Systems, for cooling water flow management.

FAQ about WCB Wafer Butterfly Valve

Q1: What are the temperature limits of this WCB wafer butterfly valve?

A: The temperature limit of this butterfly valve is closely related to the valve seat material; different valve seats have different temperature limits. This EPDM valve seat has a temperature range of -10 to 110 degrees Celsius.

Q2: What is the difference between the soft replaceable seat butterfly valve and the hard-backed seat valve?

A: The primary difference lies in the valve seat structure. Butterfly valves with replaceable soft seats feature detachable rubber seats that facilitate maintenance and reduce replacement costs, whereas butterfly valves with hard-backed seats utilize rubber seats bonded to or supported by a rigid metal backing ring, thereby offering superior strength and more stable sealing performance.

Q3: Can the soft seat be replaced without dismantling the entire pipeline?

A: The valve needs to be removed from the pipeline, but the valve seat itself can be quickly replaced manually without special equipment.

Q4: Does this valve require custom flanges for installation?

A: As long as it conforms to the accompanying standard specifications, its wider sealing surface is compatible with standard pipe flanges, and no special flanges are required.
