Features of Flanged CF8 Butterfly Valve
- C95400 Aluminum Bronze Body and Disc: Offers an excellent combination of mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.
- Replaceable Seat: The seat can be easily replaced while retaining the aluminum bronze body and disc, which helps reduce maintenance downtime and repair costs for core metal components.
- Double-Flanged Design: Ensures a secure and reliable connection to the piping system via bolting.
- Dual-Stem Configuration: Features independent upper and lower stems that support the disc from both ends. The upper stem transmits operating torque, while the lower stem acts as a guide during the opening and closing of the valve.
- Superior Corrosion Resistance: The corrosion resistance of the bronze body and disc is inherent to the alloy material itself; it does not rely on the integrity of paints or metallic coatings. Suitable for a wide range of industrial and marine environments (depending on specific operating conditions).
- Reliable Sealing Performance: Engineered to provide dependable shut-off and flow regulation capabilities.
- Easy Maintenance: The replaceable seat design simplifies inspection and repair, helping to extend the service life of the valve.

Manufacture Process of C954 Flanged Butterfly Valve
Typical Applications of Aluminium Bronze Butterfly Valve
-
Seawater Cooling CircuitsSuitable for isolation in seawater intake and cooling water piping systems. These valves feature a body and disc made of C954 aluminum bronze, offering excellent corrosion resistance without the need for protective coatings.
-
Seawater Desalination Plant Intake Systems**Suitable for seawater intake and pre-treatment piping (provided that operating conditions fall within the valve’s pressure rating). The replaceable seat design facilitates scheduled maintenance of the sealing components.
-
Marine and Shipboard Water SystemsSuitable for various seawater transport pipelines and auxiliary cooling circuits. The double-flanged connection ensures a secure installation between adjacent pipe sections.
-
Coastal Industrial FacilitiesIdeal for cooling water and utility water supply networks in coastal plants. In such environments—where both the internal medium (fluid) and the external, high-salinity atmosphere influence material selection—this product serves as an excellent choice.
NOTE: Specific application suitability depends on the chemical characteristics of the water, temperature, flow velocity, pressure, and the materials used for the valve seat and stem.

FAQ of CF8 Replaceable Dovetail Seat Butterfly Valve
1. Is this C954 aluminum bronze butterfly valve suitable for seawater environments?
This valve may be considered for use in seawater systems; however, its suitability depends on the valve’s overall configuration and the specific operating conditions. Factors such as water quality, temperature, flow velocity, suspended solid content, and the potential for stagnant periods must be evaluated comprehensively. Furthermore, the valve seat, stem, and other components exposed to the medium must also meet the requirements of the operating conditions.
2. Are C954 aluminum bronze and nickel-aluminum bronze the same thing?
No. C95400 aluminum bronze is not interchangeable with nickel-aluminum bronze grades such as C95800, as they differ in chemical composition and material properties. If a specific bronze grade is specified for a project, always verify it against the material certificate before approving the use of the valve.
3. What material should be chosen for the seat of this bronze butterfly valve?
The choice of seat material should be based on the actual fluid composition, temperature, pressure, and frequency of operation. For water-based media, EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is typically a suitable option; however, if the medium contains oil, a different elastomer may be required. If the seawater contains chemical treatment agents, please provide the names and concentrations of these chemicals so that their compatibility with the seat material can be assessed.
4. Is a “dual-stem” design the same as a “double-offset” design?
No, they are not the same. A “dual-stem” design refers to a configuration where the valve stem is split into upper and lower sections, whereas “double-offset” refers to the positional relationship of the valve shaft relative to the valve disc and the sealing geometry. Having a split-stem design does not automatically mean that a butterfly valve features a “double-offset” design.
5. Can this double-flanged butterfly valve be used in an end-of-line (dead-end) application?
No. Butterfly valves with replaceable (soft) seats cannot be used at the end of a pipeline. If such an application is required, a flanged butterfly valve with a vulcanized (bonded) seat should be selected instead.
6. What information is required when requesting a quote for this valve?
Please provide the nominal size, operating pressure and maximum differential pressure, temperature range, fluid composition, flange standard, face-to-face dimension, and method of operation. Specify C954 aluminum bronze for the valve body and disc, and clearly indicate the required materials for the seat and stem. Additionally, please state whether material certificates, inspection documentation, or project approval documents are required upon delivery.
